Call for Data: Fatty Acid Composition of Bovine Milk

Deadline: 15 July 2026 (11:59 pm CET)

WHO invites global submissions of data on the fatty acid composition of bovine milk, with a focus on butyric acid (C4:0) and trans-fatty acids (TFAs).

Submissions from all countries are welcome and will support WHO guidance on assessing TFAs in foods.

What is the TFA KEhub?

The TFA KEhub is a secure, WHO-supported knowledge exchange platform designed to strengthen national and regional laboratory capacity for monitoring and eliminating industrially produced trans fats (TFA) across the WHO European Region.

The platform supports continuous learning, structured collaboration, and knowledge exchange among laboratories, food safety authorities, policymakers, and public health experts. It complements the December 2025 – April 2026 webinar series by offering recordings, shared materials, expert guidance, and opportunities for cross-country dialogue.

Purpose of the Platform

To serve as a collaborative hub that advances technical exchange, strengthens laboratory capacity for TFA monitoring, and fosters policy and regulatory improvements for TFA elimination across countries.

About the Webinar Series

Running from December 2025 to April 2026, this WHO/Europe webinar series supports national efforts to remove industrially produced TFA and strengthen laboratory surveillance systems.

    Production, health risks, and laboratory protocols.
  • Webinar 2 – Trans Fat Analysis: Essentials and Quality Control
    Equipment requirements, methylation and GC analysis, fatty acid quantification, and quality control measures.
